DAY 1
Arrival into Catania & transfer to Ragusa
Arrival at Catania airport. Private transfer to Ragusa, one of the baroque gems. Check-in. Enjoy dinner at leisure
If your arrival is in the day, you have the option to visit Catania and visit the Ciclopes’ coast and enjoy a seafood lunch.
Day 2
Discover Cerasuolo di Vittoria Wineries & Ragusa, a Baroque gem
One of today’s highlights includes a visit to an ancient winery that produces the famous Cerasuolo di Vittoria winery, the only DOCG in Sicily. You will also visit a reknowed winery that works with biodynamic principles, using ancient traditional techniques to cultivate vines. You will end your day walking through Ragusa Ibla and savor its magic atmosphere, rich of treasures: spectacular baroque churches characterized by tower facades and noble palaces.
Day 3
Chocolate Tasting in Modica & Scicli
In Modica, you will enjoy a sweet treat at an ancient chocolate factory. The chocolate is very ancient and dates back to the Aztecs without milk. You will visit a winery famous for its bio vegan wines. The last stop of the day will be in Scicli, a town dubbed by the Siclian poet Elio Vittorini as the “real soul of Sicily.”
Day 4
Siracusa- Walk the Streets of Magna Grecia
Walking tour; free lunch in the fish market
Afternoon visit to the archeological park with its well-preserved theater and to the famous Dionysus Ear and the Roman amphitheater before you make your way to Taormina where you will spend the night.
Day 5
Discover the Wines of Mt Etna
Today is an immersion into the essence of this region: the black stone and Etna Wines. You will rise to a height of 1800 meters to walk on the Silvestri Craters, on Mt. Etna. These craters have dazzled visitors for their lunar landscapes. You will visit an awarded winery that produces red and white cru wines from their vineyards on volcanic soils. You next stop will be at a winery that was the first to produce a brut.
Day 6
More Etna Wines & the Fairytale Town of Taormina
We continue our discovery of Etna wines on the northern slopes. We visit a winery on Mt Etna that has an altitude between 600-1,000 meters above sea level. The wines are expressive of their real nature and our tasting will be in an ancient cellar. Our next vineyard is about 700 meters above sea surrounded by centuries-old lava flows which protect the vineyards and create a unique microenvironment.
DAY 7
Sailing to Salina Island
You will have a private transfer to Milazzo and arrive by hydrofoil to Salina Island. Accommodation choice is at a wine resort that is operated by a Sicilian family making reknowed wines.
Day 8
Soaking in the Beauty of Salina
Salina is a green and fertile island characterized by tine volcanoes that are inactive. Salina is best known for fish, capers and a dessert wine, Malvasia. The sea is simply beautiful. The bay of Pollara where you can enjoy a sunset and a bottle of wine is one of the most splendid places in the Aeolian archipelago. Your day is at leisure. You may find yourself relaxing seaside or sailing to one of the neighboring islands.
Day 9
Walk among the Vineyards
You can choose to take a walk among the grapevines, accompanied by a sommelier from the wine resort where you may choose to stay at. We can also create a truly complete wine experience for you through a variety of tastings of the various expressions of the Malvasia grape.
Day 10
Depart
You will transfer back to Milazzo by hydrofoil, then private transfer to Catania airport for your international departure.
