With the stunning Alps as the backdrop, the lush rolling hills of Piedmont are where some of Italy’s most sought-after wines are grown. It is where the Nebbiolo grape flourishes and provides a foundation for elegant Barbarescos and robust Barolos. These wines are known for their ageability, firm tannins and distinct aromas of tar and roses.

Do not let the pale hues of these wines fool you. Their flavor is deep; their structure is complex and the best examples can require about a decade’s wait before they become approachable. Barbaresco, known as the “Queen”, tends to be more elegant in style while Barolo, known as the “King”, is more powerful.

The food in Piemonte is also noteworthy and perfectly paired with the region’s specialties, one of which are truffles. The prized ones are white and are in season in the late fall. During any season, you can dine in the many Michelin-starred restaurants, but the local trattorias serve stellar bites.

Let us spoil you in Piemonte!
